Senior Leadership

Alex is Chairman and CEO at Ancient.  Over the past 25 years, Alex has invested through numerous credit and equity cycles, financial crises, geo-political events, sovereign stress, stock manias, macro-economic shocks, and a global pandemic.  He’s seen it all and still feels he has a lot to learn.  

Alex previously co-founded and co-managed Senator Investment Group, an investment firm that managed approximately $10 billion in assets at its peak.

Alex serves on the Executive and Nominating Committees of the Board of the New York Philharmonic, the Leadership Council of the Robin Hood Foundation, and the board of Faherty Brand.  He is Chairman of Solairus Aviation and Sotheby’s Financial Services.  

Alex lives in Manhattan with his wife and two teenage sons.  He is highly allergic to cats, but lives with two. 

Adam is a Senior Managing Director & Chief Legal Officer at Ancient. Adam is a seasoned attorney and trusted adviser with significant experience handling complex matters.  As an experienced tax and transactional attorney, he has negotiated and structured acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures across industries and investment cycles.

Adam serves on the Board of Managers of Saturn Acquisition Holdings, LLC, the parent of Solairus Aviation, and the Board of SAR Academy/High School in the Bronx, NY.

He lives in Westchester, where he and his wife raised their three children.

Alison is Chief Financial Officer and leads all things finance and accounting across our firm and our investments.

Her solution-oriented approach, developed over 25 years of working with both private and public companies, ensures Ancient operates soundly and helps portfolio companies streamline and optimize their financial practices.

Alison lives on the Upper West Side with her husband and teenage kids. When she’s not championing GAAP, you can most likely find her cheering on her kids in their many sports endeavors.

Erich Schram was most recently the Head of Blackstone’s Insurance Portfolios within Blackstone Credit.

Joining Blackstone in 2018, Erich and was one of the founding partners of Blackstone Insurance Solutions and built the Asset Backed Finance business.

Prior to joining Blackstone, Erich was the Chief Investment Officer of Guggenheim Life and Annuity Company from 2013-2018 where he was responsible for overall investment strategy as well as direct investments across multiple asset classes across Guggenheim Life’s $15B balance sheet.

Erich was previously a Managing Director with Guggenheim Partners Investment Management unit where he focused on investing across the capital structure in multiple industry sectors across asset classes including: high yield, credit opportunities, direct lending, ABS and CLO.

Erich received a BA in Economics from Amherst College in 2003.

Loren is Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Investing at Ancient. He has over 20 years of experience in private equity, having invested through multiple market cycles across a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on services and industrial businesses. Prior to joining Ancient, Loren was a senior investor at American Securities, a private equity firm managing over $20 billion in assets. Throughout his career, he has served as the Chairman or board member of numerous public and private companies.

Outside of work, Loren sits on the Board of Advisors for the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania.

He lives in New York City with his wife, two children, and their 5-pound dog, Reese—who confidently believes she’s in charge.

Rick is a Senior Advisor at Ancient.  Drawing on many decades of experience in the financial services sector, Rick leads initiatives in investment strategy, transaction execution, and portfolio company management.  Rick also serves on the Board of Solairus Aviation.

Outside of work, Rick and his wife live in New Jersey and have two adult children.  They currently share their home with a dog, who is getting too much attention now that their youngest is in college, and a flock of sheep.

Rick and his wife are passionate about education and are actively involved with their local high school and several colleges.
